Veta R. Trower, age 86, of Farber, MO passed away at 3:36 pm Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia. Pastor Bob Hoehn will officiate. Burial will be in the Farber Cemetery following the service.
The family asks anyone attending the services for Veta to please wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.
Veta was born on July 24, 1934, in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Arnold and Dorothy (Butts) Mittelberg.
She was united in marriage to Paul E. Trower on June 13, 1954. He proceeded her in death on January 1, 2008.
Survivors include two sons, Steven (Ann) Trower of Oconomowoc, WI and Daniel (Toni) Trower of Vandalia; one brother, Lowell (Leona) Mittelberg of Liberty, IL; two grandsons, Adam (Jill) Trower and Matthew (Michelle) Trower; two granddaughters, Micah (Jeremy) Hodde and Rachel (Adam) Van Dera; and five great grandchildren, Nora, Luke, Josh, Alexander and Benjamin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Veta graduated from South Western Bible Institute of San Angelo, TX in 1952 and worked as a Bus Driver for Van-Far School District for 25 years.
She was a member of the Farber Christian Church where she loved to play the piano and organ. She loved trout fishing especially at Bennett Spring State Park, traveling, camping and playing cards. When she was younger she enjoyed playing the violin and she loved listening to instrumental music.
Pallbearers will be Adam Trower, Matthew Trower, Jeremy Hodde, Adam Van Dera, Josh Hodde, Tim Trower and Gary Mittelberg.
Memorial contributions may be made to Farber Cemetery Association, in care of Waters Funeral Home.
