Ronald Wyman Galloway, 87, of Vandalia, MO passed away at 12:45 am Thursday, March 26, 2020, at Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia.
Private family services with full military honors provided by the United States Navy and American Legion Post #510 of Laddonia, MO will be held on Monday, March 30, 2020 at the Vandalia Cemetery. Pastor Jamie Franke will officiate.
Ronald was born on November 24, 1932, in , Missouri the son of Lyle and Esther (Rohr) Galloway. He was united in marriage to Norma Wooten on April 11, 1981 at the United Methodist Church in Vandalia. She survives.
Survivors included wife, Norma Galloway of Vandalia; children, Rhonda Kirby of Prescott, AZ, Rhea Galloway of Centralia, Roger Galloway of Lee Summit; step-children, Carrie Reading (Jimmie) of Curryville, Dana Reading (Rod) of St. Peters, Michael Wooten (Christy) of Kansas City; brother, Lyndell Galloway of Centralia; two sisters, Janice Naysmith of Laddonia, Isabel Galloway of Laddonia; two sister-in-laws, Val Galloway of Vandalia, Almeda Galloway of IL; fifteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Ronald graduated from Laddonia High School, following that he honorably served his country in the United States Navy during Korean conflict. After returning from his service he went to work as a Communication Technician for AB Chance Company/Hubbell in Centralia, MO.
He enjoyed many things including woodworking, golfing, playing cards, boating and dancing, but spending time with his family was what he enjoyed the most. Ronald was hardworking and a joy to be around, he was loved by everyone that met him.
Ronald was a member of the First Christian Church where he served as a past Deacon. He was also a member of the Vandalia Lions Club where he served as District Governor from 1973-74.
