William Wayne Pease

December 25, 1931 — March 26, 2022

William Wayne Pease, age 90, of Mexico, MO passed away at 5:55 am Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the Mexico Veterans Home.  

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Mount Olivet Church. Burial will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery following the service.

A visitation celebrating Wayne's life will be held at 1:00 pm until the time of service Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Mount Olivet Church.

Wayne was born on December 25, 1931, in Vandalia, Missouri the son of Ira and Mabel (Kelly) Pease.

He was united in marriage to Doris Haverich on November 25, 1951. Doris and Wayne divorced in May of 1998 but remained close friends. She preceded him in death on February 6, 2021. 

He was also preceded in death by his parents; Four Brothers, Tallmadge Pease, Clifford Pease, Leroy Pease, and Melvin Pease; Six Sisters, Evelyn Grover, Julia Mae who died in infancy, Viola Maskey, Leota Craighead, Sue Henderson, and Mildred Morris. 

Survivors include his children, Jeanine (Sam) McEvers of Bluffs, IL, Eddie Pease of Laddonia, MO, Keith (Janie) Pease of Vandalia, MO, and Lanette (Jim) Goldsborough of Jacksonville, IL; one sister, Dorothy Emo of Dayton, OH; seven grandchildren, Lezlie (Michael) Fuhr, Jason (Courtney) McEvers, Lori (Jimmie) Howerton, Stephanie (Joe) Largent, Dustan (Kailyn) Pease, Alena Schafer and Alecia Freels; fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. 

Wayne honorably served his country in the United States Army during Korean War from January of 1952 to January of 1954. He was a member of the Mount Olivet Church in rural Vandalia. 

Wayne enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was always visiting someone and often found traveling to the west coast to visit his old Army buddies and family. He was no stranger to hard work spending most of his time working on his farm and at Harbison Walker Refractories.
