Friday, March 19, 2004 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia, Missouri.
Service:

Saturday, March 20, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Second Christian Church, 1071 W. Booker St. in Vandalia, Missouri.
Officiating will be: Rev. John Harris.
Music provided by: church choir.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Steve Burks, Weldon Williams Jr., Martin Williams, Jason Fowler, Tim Davis and James Nunnelly. Honorary pallbearers are Victor Davis, Paul Tinder, William Tinder, Dempsey Dixon Jr., Jonathan Ivory, Courtney Williams, Willis Davis Jr. and Kyle Reznicek.

Wesley Jackson Bryant Sr. passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter in Mexico at 12:05 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2004. Mr. Bryant was a lifelong Vandalia area resident and attended the Second Christian Church in Vandalia. He had worked as an airhammer operator for over 40 years at Harbison Walker Refractories in Vandalia, retiring in October 1977. Mr. Bryant also owned and operated an independent trash service in Vandalia for many years. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed umpiring Khoury league baseball games in the Vandalia/Farber area.

Born: October 6, 1912 in rural Farber the son of William B. and Ethel Harriet (Jackson) Bryant.

Married: Flossie Marie Bonham on February 21, 1934 in Vandalia, she preceded him in death on April 29, 1979.

Survivors include: four daughters, Joyce B. and husband, Nathaniel Jackson of Mexico; Ethel L. and husband, Paul Tinder of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Laura M. and husband, Weldon Williams of University Park, Illinois; Helen J. and husband, Harry Fowler of Mexico; one brother, William B. Bryant of Philadelphia; three sisters, Helen Wells of Mexico; Elizabeth Shepherd and Edith Salmon, both of Vandalia; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by: one son, Wesley J. Bryant Jr.; one daughter, Anna M. Burks and four brothers.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
