Wendell "Windy" Wayne Stewart

November 18, 1932 — May 13, 2019

Wendell "Windy" Wayne Stewart, 86, of Curryville, MO passed away at 7:06 PM Monday, May 13, 2019, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 17, 2019 at Waters Funeral Home. Laura Beth Zeh will officiate. Burial will be in the Farber Cemetery.

Visitation celebrating Wendell Wayne Stewart will be held 9:00 AM until time of service Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Waters Funeral Home.

Wendell was born on November 18, 1932, in Spencerburg, Missouri the son of Carl N. and Abby D. (Coose) Stewart.

He was united in marriage to Gladys Maxine (Terry) Stewart on May 20, 1950, in Farber, Missouri. She preceded him in death.

Survived by four daughters, Jayne Stewart of Columbia, MO, Jackie (Marion) Branstetter of Frankford, MO, Kim (Greg) McCollum of Centralia, MO and Laura (Ed) Jurotich of Wentzville, MO; Sister, Margaret Terry of Farber, MO; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents; one daughter, Diana Moore; three brothers, John Stewart, Eugene Stewart and Carl Richard Stewart; two sisters, Louise Butts and Frances Stewart; son-in-Law, Bud Moore.

Wendell retired from NARCO Refractories in Farber, MO in 1997. He was an avid hunter especially raccoon, squirrel, deer and rabbit. Wendell was a big "storyteller" and absolutely loved going dancing with Maxine, they were known to clear the dance floor doing the jitterbug. He loved Mom's fried chicken and going to the farm, but nothing meant more to him than his family and friends.

Honorary Pallbearers: Renee' Moore; Rachel Robb; Lauren Jurotich.

Memorial contributions may be made to Every Child Every Day (Buddy Packs Food Program) Bowling Green School District or the American Lung Association, in care of Waters Funeral Home 500 S. Main Street P.O. Box 84 Vandalia, MO 63382.
