Wanda Louise (Evans) Werner passed away at 2:55 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the family's home in Vandalia. She was a 1945 graduate of Rensselaer High School and has lived all her married life in Vandalia. Wanda was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Vandalia where she and husband Ray Werner were married in 1946. She was also active in the Ruth Circle, helped with Sunday School, Bible School and the nursery. Wanda also enjoyed sewing, embroidery, gardening, flowers and puzzles.
Born: February 27, 1927 in rural Vandalia the daughter of Paul Benn and Louise Anna (Keller) Evans.
Married: Ray Werner on November 3, 1946 at the First Presbyterian Church in Vandalia.
Survivors include: husband, Ray of Vandalia; one son, Leslie E. and wife, Kelly Werner of Sturgeon; three daughters: Cathy L. and husband, Jerry Potts of Montreal, Missouri; Janis R. and husband, Tom Biesemeyer of Columbia and Lydia A. Neill of Vandalia; one sister, Mary Anne Montgomery of Lexington, Missouri; two grandchildren: Christa and husband, Anthony Westhusing of Linn Creek, Missouri; Brad and wife, Staci Potts of Camdenton; three great-grandchildren: Ella Westhusing, Sophia Westhusing and Blake Potts; also survive by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by: parents; two brothers: Jack Evans and Bill Evans; one grandson, Brian Neill.
