Service:

Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel.
Officiating will be: Pastor Mark Phelps.
Music provided by: "One Day at a Time"
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Clifton Whiteaker, Brandon Whiteaker, Marvin Yager Jr., Eddie Hoover, Donald Hoover and Ray Oden. Honorary pallbearer: Richard See.

Vivian Maybelle (Trower) Whiteaker passed away unexpectedly at 6:32 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, Missouri. Vivian attended Middletown schools and graduated from the Middletown High School in the 1945 class. She and Howard moved to Vandalia shortly after they were married in 1946. Vivian has been a longtime member of the Southside Baptist Church and was a fulltime homemaker. She enjoyed to crochet, working crossword puzzles, collecting bells, music and singing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vivian and Howard had traveled extensively in the past, fishing and camping.

Born: May 10, 1927 in Olney, Missouri the daughter of Henry Earl and Beulah Belle (LeMasters) Trower.

Married: Howard Addison Whiteaker on June 5, 1946 in Fresno, California; he preceded her in death on May 12, 1987.

Survivors include: one son, David W. Whiteaker of Farber; three grandchildren: Clifton W. Whiteaker of Roodhouse, Illinois; Ongelia J. Cross of St. Louis; Brandon W. Whiteaker of Mexico, Missouri; six great-grandchildren: Tyler J. Wilson, John A. Wilson, Taquilla S. Cross, Zachary Pickard, Kaden B. Whiteaker and Brooklyn R. Whiteaker; niece, Helen and husband, Herb Jones of St. Charles, Missouri.

Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Howard; one brother, Earl Lyndol Trower; two sisters, Opal Pauline Sadoyan and Tressie Lorene Davidson.

Memorials are encouraged to the Southside Baptist Church in Vandalia.
