Service:

Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Faith Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in Vandalia, Missouri.
Officiating will be: Rev. Richard Smith.
Music provided by: Second Baptist Church Choir.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Nathaniel Martin, Gary Clark, Trevor Chatman, Dominic Wray, Joseph Overton and Derrick Chatman. Honorary pallbearers: Tyler Starks, Donnie Chatman, Markus Perkins, Keaton Townsen, Dustin Holt and Kenneal Palmer.

Tyra Shantell Chatman passed away unexpectedly at her home in Columbia, Missouri on Thursday evening, September 3, 2009. Tyra was a 2005 Rockbridge High School graduate and lived most of her life in Columbia. She was a Christian by faith and enjoyed many hobbies as she made a loving home for her four children. Tyra enjoyed playing bingo, fixing friends hair and playing basketball. She also spent a great deal of time visiting with relatives and friends.

Born: August 11, 1986 in Mexico, Missouri the daughter of Edward Lee Wray Jr. and Angelia Sue Chatman.

Married:

Survivors include: parents, Edward of Columbia and Angelia of St. Louis; maternal great-grandmother, Gertie Chatman of Louisiana, Missouri; maternal grandparents: Roger and Joyce Chatman of Vandalia; paternal grandparents: John and Geraldine Wray of Troy, Missouri; two sons: D'avion T. Harris and E'vonta D. Johnson both of Columbia; two daughters: Ti'aisha S. Harris and Za'dia S. Johnson both also of Columbia; three brothers: DeAngelo S. Wilson of Mexico, Missouri; Dominic A. Wray of St. Louis and Tyson Schulze of Troy; one sister: Tiane D. Chatman of Vandalia; also survived by a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.

Preceded in death by: great-grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to a fund for Tyra's children in care of Waters Funeral Home, P O Box 84, Vandalia, Missouri 63382.
