Tonya Kay Lybarger, age 66, of Bowling Green, MO passed away at 10:08 AM Monday, May 22,
2023, at home, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, May 26, 2023, at Waters Funeral Home.
Pastor Jamie Franke will officiate.
Visitation celebrating Tonya's life will be held from 10:00 am, until the time of service.
Tonya was born on January 29, 1957, in Hannibal, Missouri the daughter of Ray and Shan
(Myers) DeTienne.
She was united in marriage to Paul Lybarger on May 24th, 1975. He survives.
Other survivors include Two sons; Kyle (Dawn) Lybarger of Bowling Green, MO and Cody
(Lacey) Lybarger of Mexico, MO, One daughter, Tara (DJ) Horton of Bowling Green, MO.
Grandkids; Daylyn (Colten) Johnson, Austin Horton, Kale Lybarger, Ryan and Jackson Lybarger.
Great-Grandbabies; Paisley and Hadley Johnson. Also surviving are her dad, Berwyn Lewis of
Vandalia. MO. Brothers; Danny DeTienne of Vandalia, MO and Curt (Twillia) Lewis of Nowata,
OK, brother-in-law Robert Hays of Vandalia, MO and Sister; Angie (Joe) Duris of Erie, MI, Laci Couch of Vandalia MO and
numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Shan Lewis and Ray DeTienne. Sisters, Donna
DeTienne (infant) and Lisa Hays, along with many others that she loved so dear.
Tonya graduated from Van-Far High School in 1975. Professionally Tonya worked in Garment
Factories for years. She retired from the Ad Finder after 25+ years as a Display Artist and
Assistant Office Manager for the Ad Finder.
Tonya enjoyed her Pepsi Fountain Sodas, her flowers and hibiscus plants, playing penny poker
with the family, cooking, more so making her candy/sweets and watching her Hummingbirds.
Although nothing meant more to her than her family, especially spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Loving Care Hospice, in care of Waters
Funeral Home.
