Tess was born December 20, 1950, to David Lee and Ione Jewell (Terry) Fielder of Vandalia. She was united in marriage to Ronald Joe Hendrix on April 25th, 1970. Together, they had on son, Travis Lee Hendrix. After high school, she worked at Bobbie Brooks from 1968 to 1973. She took a course in Floral Design at Hannibal-LaGrange College. She then worked at the local Florist. Her love of flowers and her caring nature was shown in the beautiful arrangements that she made. Tess also worked at Avery's Floor Mat Company in Laddonia, MO, Hickmans IGA deli, among many other jobs afterwards.

Tess was a lifelong resident of Vandalia. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and taught CCD classes. She found happiness in working in her flower gardens and took pride in her beautiful yard work. She also loved her fur babies; Snuckie, Bullet, and Smedley, all cocker spaniels. Everyone that knew her, knew she had the biggest, caring heart, and would do anything for anyone. She loved to cook and had a way gathering people together and making them feel like family. She enjoyed ceramics, shopping, flea markets, and auctions. She was an avid collector of Boyd Bears, glassware, and Longaberger Baskets. She and her mother and sister had a chance to visit the Longaberger Basket facility in Ohio.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald J. Hendrix of Vandalia, MO; son, Travis Hendrix of Vandalia, MO; nephew, Sean (Wendy) Lovelace; and great-nephew, Zach Lovelace, all of Jefferson City, MO; and her special kids, Steve and Denise Hank, and Angie Morris.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David L. Fielder and Ione Drainer of Vandalia; stepfather, Jim Drainer, of Vandalia; sister, Brinda Pargeon and husband, Ralph (Gene) Pargeon of Vandalia; and nephew, Christopher Lovelace.
