Skylie Rayne Salmon, 17, of Vandalia, MO, tragically passed away Monday, May 4, 2026.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Second Christian Church in Vandalia. Burial will follow in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Visitation celebrating Skylie's life will be 10:00 am until 12:00 pm Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Waters Funeral Home.
The family is being served by the Waters Funeral Home of Vandalia.
Skylie was born on April 29, 2009, in Mexico, MO the daughter of Michael Salmon and Kimberly Fischer.
Survivors include her parents of Vandalia, MO; aunts, Donna Kemry (Robert) and Connie Salmon; uncle, James Foiles (Rhonda); numerous cousins, extended family and friends.
Skylie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Fred and Della Fischer; paternal grandparents, Ben and Edith Salmon; uncles Jerry Foiles, Joe Salmon, John Salmon, Louis Salmon, Donnie Salmon, and Earl Wayne Salmon.
Skylie was a free-spirited teenager who enjoyed listening to music, the peace and tranquility of an evening swing in the park. Skylie also found joy in gardening, her fish and her fish aquarium and going on rides across the countryside. Skylie's biggest love was her family; she enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her family and friends. Skylie was a ray of light in everyone's eyes who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all.
Skylie attended the Second Christan Church of Vandalia.
Pallbearers will be Cory Salmon, Robert Kemry, B.J. Kemry, Tyler Kemry, LaDon Salmon and Walter Salmon, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be James Foiles, Branson Salmon, Mike Reynolds, and Thomas Salmon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Second Christian Church of Vandalia, in care of Waters Funeral Home.
