Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Hoehn.
Music provided by: Ellen Roy - soloist; Marilyn Love - pianist.
Interment of her cremains will be in the Vandalia Cemetery at a later date.
Pallbearers: Ronnie Hendrix, Rod Landers, Bob Trower, Harold Christian, Gene Lovelace, Gene Pargeon and Gary Rahmeyer. Honorary pallbearers: Ben Grisham, Scott Grisham, Charlie Grisham, Terry Smith and Wayne Smith.
Sheila Kay (Grisham) Smith passed away at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at her home in Vandalia. She was a Vandalia resident all her adult life and a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Vandalia. Sheila graduated from a Springfield, Illinois beauty school in 1968, returning to Vandalia to work with Nell Allen at Nell's Beauty Shop for several years. She later owned and operated her own business, The Mane Shop in Vandalia for 42 years. Sheila was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and especially loved spending time with her family. She also loved cooking, landscaping her backyard flower gardens, vegetable gardening, canning, scrapbooking and crocheting. Sheila was a very special woman who touched the lives of many people and will be missed by all.
Born: September 22, 1950 in Hannibal, Missouri the daughter of Benjamin and Juanita (Simms) Grisham.
Married: Larry Gene Smith on February 28, 1970 in Vandalia, Missouri; he survives at the home.
Survivors include: husband, Larry; one son, Dustin Lee and wife, Marie Smith of Vandalia; one daughter, Angie and husband Ryan Morris of Vandalia; three brothers: Charles Grisham of Vandalia; Ben and wife, Sherrie Grisham of Springfield, Illinois; Scott and wife, Pam Grisham of Millersburg, Missouri; one sister, Connie Moore of Brighton, Illinois; two brothers-in-law: Earl Wayne and wife, Martha Ann Smith of Bowling Green, Missouri and Terry Smith of Vandalia; mother-in-law, Dorothy Smith of Vandalia; four grandchildren: Isaac Smith, Andrew Morris, Gavin Smith and Tyler Robinson.
Preceded in death by: parents, one brother-in-law, Joe Moore and her father-in-law, Walter Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the Sheila Smith Scholarship for Cosmetology at Van-Far High School in care of First National Bank, 205 W. Hwy. 54 Vandalia 63382.
