Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia.
Service:

Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Hoehn.
Music provided by: selected favorite songs.
Interment will be in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Ken Stotler, Jim Stotler, Dale Clithero, John Wallace, Larry Stotler and Robert Clithero.

Sarah Elizabeth (Parsons) Clithero passed away at 11:10 a.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. Sarah grew up and attended schools in the Perry and Monroe City area. She was a 1941 graduate of Monroe City High School and was raised in the Catholic Church. Sarah traveled after school but she and Joe P. moved to their farm south of Vandalia shortly after they were married. She had worked for nearly 30 years as a seamstress for the Ely Walker Garment Factory and then Bobby Brooks Garment Factory in Vandalia. Sarah retired in 1980 and helped Joe P. on the farm until late 1996. They were members of the Supper Club in Vandalia and she enjoyed many hobbies. Sarah enjoyed gardening, her flowers, sewing, birds, her cat and she made many lap covers for the residents at Tri-County Care Center and the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico.

Born: June 5, 1919 in Monroe City, Missouri the daughter of James W. and Mary Irene (O'Daniel) Parsons.

Married: Joe P. Clithero on August 31, 1946 in Vandalia; he preceded her in death on September 14, 1996.

Survivors include: nephews, Ken and Diana Stotler of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Dale and Debbie Clithero of Nixa, Missouri; Gale and Susan Clithero of Springfield, Missouri; Jim Stotler of Auxvasse, Missouri.

Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Joe P. Clithero; one sister, Myrtle Stotler in 1996.

Memorials are encouraged to the American Cancer Society or the donor's choice.
