Rosie Leveda Mefford, age 93, of Vandalia, MO passed away at 5:15 pm Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Baptist Homes of Tri-County.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the Waters Funeral Home. Rev. Bruce Bouman will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in rural Perry.

Visitation celebrating Rosie's life will be held 10:00 am until the time of the service Wednesday at the Waters Funeral Home.

Rosie was born on September 24, 1932, in Perry, MO the daughter of David and Stella (Holcomb) Luckett. She was united in marriage to Orval Mefford on September 5, 1950, in New London, MO. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Wilma Leake of Monroe City, MO and Cindy Kohl of Vandalia, MO; one son, Dan Mefford (Evone) of Vandalia, MO; son-in-law, Harold Tolar of Louisiana, MO; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rosie was preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Tolar, one son-in-law, Ron Leake, one granddaughter, three great-grandchildren, five brothers and two sisters.

Professionally Rosie worked in the garment industry for many years and later retired from Cerf Bro's in New London, MO.

Rosie enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved cooking for her family and friends, and you would never go away hungry. She also enjoyed camping, roasting hot dogs, taking walks, working around her house, the yard and in the garden. Rosie lived in the Vandalia area for seventy-five years. She was a Baptist by faith.

Pallbearers will be Shaun Hopkins, Nathan Kohl, Dan J. Mefford, Justin Mefford, Timmy Mefford and Trey Goodin.
