Monday, October 15, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia, Missouri.
Service:

Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia.
Officiating will be: Pastor Mark Shephard.
Music provided by: selected favorite songs.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery with full military honors.
Pallbearers: Lyndle Chrisman, Ryan Chrisman, Cole Chrisman, Wayne Jennings, Marvin Dillon and Carl Henderson. Honorary pallbearers: Benji Henderson and Rick Girrard.

Ronald Dean Chrisman passed away unexpectedly at 4:50 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2012 at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, Missouri. Ron grew up in the Vandalia area and was a 1962 Van-Far High School graduate. After high school, he joined the U. S. Navy and served on the submarine USS H. W. Gilmore at the start of the Vietnam War. Upon returning home after service to his country, he worked for five years at the Hercules Plant in Louisiana, Missouri. Ron then owned and operated Chrisman MFA gas station in Vandalia for approximately five years. He and Becky moved to Florida in 1973 where he received training and worked as an air-conditioning pipefitter and welder. They then moved to Peoria, Illinois where he worked in construction for several years, returning to Vandalia in 1983. Ron then owned and operated Chrisman Plumbing Service and their carwash until he retired due to health reasons in 1996. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, gardening and working on and restoring antique tractors.

Born: November 19, 1944 in Moberly, Missouri the son of Floyd Carter and Velma Gwendolyn (Fowler) Chrisman.

Married: Becky P. Lawson on April 10, 1965 in Farber.

Survivors include: wife, Becky of Vandalia; parents, Floyd and Gwen Chrisman of Bowling Green; one son, Kevin D. and wife, Lynette Chrisman of Eolia; one sister, Connie Uhey of Vandalia; four grandchildren: Lyndle Chrisman, Ryan Chrisman, Katelyn Chrisman and Cole Chrisman.

Preceded in death by: grandparents; one son, Timothy S. Chrisman.
