Ricky Ray Nation, age 61, of Vandalia, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, in Vandalia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia.
Visitation celebrating Ricky's life will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Waters Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. during the visitation.
Ricky was born on April 6, 1965, in Mexico, Missouri, the son of Marlin Nation and Margaret Hustedde Nation.
Ricky worked for UPS for many years and also worked for Green Supply. Most recently, he delivered parts for Carquest.
A man of Catholic faith, Ricky attended St. Clement Catholic Church, where he was a distinguished member of the Knights of Columbus. Ricky was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 25 years and was honored as Knight of the Year in 1995.
Ricky enjoyed traveling to Alaska, where he especially loved taking photographs and capturing the beauty of the scenery. He was also an avid collector of toy tractors and had a special love for MOPAR.
Ricky is survived by his son, Kylen Nation; Kylen's mother, Heather Workes; his sister, Brenda Nation Robson; nieces, Hope Robson and Indigo Robson; along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marlin and Margaret Nation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Clement Knights of Columbus in Ricky's memory.
Arrangements are under the direction of Waters Funeral Home.
