Ricky Alan Gillmann, 64, of Mexico, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
Ricky was born on December 22, 1961 in Kirkwood, Missouri, the son of Kenneth Phillip and Betty (Arnold) Gillman.
Rick found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time hunting and fishing, and relaxing with his favorite pastimes, including WWE wrestling and classic episodes of the Three Stooges. He had a deep appreciation for the strength and beauty of eagles and wolves, interests that reflected his own spirited nature. Known for his signature response, “I’m as fine as wine,” Rick brought a sense of humor and warmth to every conversation. With a kind and generous heart, he made it his mission to uplift those around him, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Survivors include two children, Marcus Alan Gillmann of Foley and Jennifer Gillmann of Hannibal; two brothers, Stan Gillman of Rio Rico, AZ and Phil (Tammy) Gillmann of Vandalia; one sister, Vera Marie Wilson of Mexico; his significant other, Penny Burton of Mexico; he was papa to Addison, Peyton, Dallas and Harper Croghan; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Betty Gillman; one brother, Leroy William Drissel.
A Memorial service celebrating Ricky's life will be held 5:00pm-7pm, April 1, 2026 at Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia
