Richard Roy Headley passed away at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. Mr. Headley was a Kenmore High School graduate from Akron, Ohio and received his associates degree from Medosto Junior College. He served in both the U. S. Army and the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Headley had been in wholesale and retail auto parts most all of his life. He spent a majority of that time working over 30 years for Starrs Auto Parts in Turlock, California. He and his wife, Helen moved to Vandalia about a year and a half ago and made their church home with the United Methodist Church. Mr. Headley was a member of Masonic Lodge #395 from Turlock, California; past member of the Lions Club in Turlock and Richard enjoyed playing golf in his free time.

Born: April 21, 1925 in Akron, Ohio the son of Samuel A. and Blanche (Stewart) Headley.

Married: Helen Lee Patrick in 1945 in Akron, Ohio; she survives at the home.

Survivors include: wife, Helen of the home; one daughter, Pat Suzanne and husband, Kraig E. Bomke of Curryville, Missouri; two grandchildren, Traci M. Owens of St. Charles and Terri S. Rudin of O'Fallon, Missouri; six great-grandchildren: Mallorie Owens, Miranda Rudin, Paulina Owens, Jessica Rudin, Benjamin Rudin and Nicholas Rudin.

Preceded in death by: parents, one son, James G. Headley who passed in 1989; four brothers and five sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the donor's choice.
