Visitation:
Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia.
Service:

Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Farber Baptist Church.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Hoehn and Rev. Jerry Ostrom.
Music provided by: Sterling and Karen Holbrook.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers:

Oneita E (Hicklin) Shaw passed away at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia. Oneita grew up and attended schools in the Perry area. She had been a member of Spencer Creek Baptist Church for over 70 years, but recently had moved her membership to the Farber Baptist Church when her health prevented her from traveling to the country. She had worked as a seamstress at Bobbie Brooks for many years and retired when the plant closed. From 2003 until 2009, Oneita had worked as a volunteer/mentor for women at the WERDCC in Vandalia. She enjoyed sewing, reading, spending time with her family, gardening and sharing her Christianity and her faith.

Born: December 22, 1919 in Perry, Missouri the daughter of Arba and Alta Eunice (Harper) Hicklin.

Married: Orley Edward Shaw on October 30, 1938, he preceded her in death in 1975.

Survivors include: one daughter, Patricia Bouchard of Farber; one grandson, Ed Livers of Farber; three great-grandchildren: Robert Seiger and wife, Melody of Laddonia; Adraine Seiger of Hallsville; Katie Livers of Columbia; one great-great-granddaughter, Amber Harrison of Laddonia; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Orley; two sisters, Opal Hicklin who died in infancy and Leona Peters.

Memorials are encouraged to Spencer Creek Baptist Church.
