Service:

Monday, February 16, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel, 500 S. Main Street in Vandalia, Missouri 63382.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Hoehn.
Music provided by: selected favorite hymns.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Warren Nation, Rick Nation, Keith Nation, Wesley Nation, Mickey Mink and Billy Ray Nation. Honorary pallbearers: Steven Mottaz, Rich and Tiny Morse, Edward Becker, Bruce Newman, Merle James, Don Robson and Rick Goodhart.

Norman G. Nation passed away at 11:10 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, Missouri. He attended rural schools and lived his entire life in Audrain County, Missouri. Norman and his family farmed three miles south of town. His hobbies included fishing, attending old threshers shows and raising horses.

Born: January 17, 1913 in rural Audrain County, Missouri the son of William Albert and Clara Louise(Vatterrodt) Nation.

Married: Ina Lorene Kisor on December 22, 1934 in Vandalia; she survives at the home.

Survivors include: wife, Ina Lorene of Vandalia; Donald Lee and wife, Marlene Nation of rural Vandalia, Missouri; Marlin Ray "Marty" and wife, Peggy Nation of rural Vandalia and Larry Glen and wife, Nancy Nation of Vandalia; one brother: Bill and wife, Doris Nation of rural Vandalia; one sister: Aileen and husband, Kenny Hill of Dover, Ohio; two sisters-in-law: Velma Nation of Vandalia and Hazel Dunn of Bowling Green, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Warren Nation of Vandalia; Brenda and husband, Don Robson of Olathe, Kansas; Rick Nation of Vandalia; Julie and husband, Edward Becker of Kirksville, Missouri; Jolene and husand, Bruce Newman of Walsenburg, Colorado; Kelly Jean and husband, Mickey Mink of rural Vandalia; Keith and wife Nickie Nation of Lake St. Louis; Wesley and wife Kimber Nation of Vandalia; also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: parents; three brothers: Edward, Calvin and infant brother Alton Nation; three sisters: Ina Mae Hicks, Lorene Hermann and Dazalea Lang.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the Vandalia Area Fair Association.
