Myra Jean Davis

Myra Jean Davis, age 64, of Vandalia, MO passed away at 11:50 am Thursday, April 20, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at the Second Missionary Baptist Church Worship Center. Dustin Holt will officiate. Burial will be at the Vandalia Cemetery. 

Visitation celebrating Myra Jean Davis will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday April 26, 2023 at the Second Missionary Baptist Church Worship Center until the time of service. 

Myra was born on August 17, 1958, in Hannibal MO,  the daughter of John A. and Fannie L. Davis (Davis).
 
Survivors include two sisters, Marsha Davis of Vandalia, MO, Marian Davis of Vandalia, MO; three brothers, Marlon Davis of Vandalia, MO, Myron (Kim) Davis of Vandalia, MO, Mark (Donna) Davis of Vandalia, MO; and special friend James Wheeler. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers; Mitchell Davis and Michael Davis. 
 
Professionally Myra previously worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer 1 where she retired after years of dedicated service. She enjoyed attending church services and singing in the choir.  In her personal life, she enjoyed baking and decorating cakes and spending time with her family where she adored her nieces and nephews and loved to "fool" with them.

Myra was a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church Worship Center and was a member of the Women's Ministry.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Second Missionary Baptist Church Worship Center, in care of Waters Funeral Home.

The Re-Pass will be held at the Multipurpose Baptist Building following graveside services.
