Melvin M. "Buddy" Yates Jr. died at 1:34 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2006 as the result of an automobile accident near Rolla, Missouri.

Born: September 5, 1943 in Vandalia, Missouri the son of Melvin Marlo and Hallie Mae (Rowley) Yates Sr.

Survivors include: mother, Hallie Yates Sr. of Vandalia; one son, Christopher M. Yates of Vandalia; three daughters, Kim A. Yates of Vandalia; Lori L. and husband, Dwayne Hull of Vandalia; Angela K. and husband, Troy Brown of rural Curryville, Missouri; nine grandchildren: Sarah, Michael, Joseph, Megan, Cody, Tyler, Shelby, Austin and Dylan; one great-granddaughter, Ema Elizabeth Ray of Vandalia.

Preceded in death by: father and one sister, Connie M. Yates.
