Service:

Private graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at the Vandalia Cemetery under the direction of Waters Funeral Chapel.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Balwanz.
Music provided by: family.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Charles Bartison, Earl Boyd, Kenneth McDonald, Donald Ray Morris, Marvin Burnett and Al Wortman. Honorary pallbearers will be Warren Bartison and Marty Nation.

Melvin Pease age 76 of rural Vandalia, died unexpectedly at 12:38 p.m., Monday, November 17, 2003 at the Hannibal Regional Hospital. Mr. Pease had farmed all his life in the Vandalia area and was a lifelong rural Vandalia resident. He enjoyed farming and restoring old tractors.

Born: September 9, 1927 near the Pleasant Plains community, the son of Ira Leland and Mabel Isabel (Kelly) Pease.

Married: Helen Mae Keller on December 9, 1951 in Vandalia; she survives at the home.

Survivors include: three sons, Randy M. Pease of Vandalia; Darwyn L. and wife, Debra Pease, of rural Curryville and Larry G. and wife, Krista Pease, of Perry; one daughter, H. Denise and husband, Gary Nolan, of Vandalia; three brothers and five sisters; four grandchildren, Emily Ebers, Joshua and Caleb Pease and Deanna Garnett; two great-grandchildren, Kyle Ebers and Ashton Garnett.

Preceded in death by: parents; one brother, one sister and one sister who died in infancy.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
