Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.

Mattie Marie Burge passed away at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2008 at Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. Mattie attended area schools and has been a lifelong Vandalia area resident. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Vandalia where she had been a Sunday school teacher and active in the Women's Missionary Service. Mattie had worked as a seamstress for both the Ely Walker and Bobby Brooks Garment factories in Vandalia for many years.

Born: August 19, 1910 in Vandalia, Missouri the daughter of George William and Nancy Jane (Elzea) Burge.

Married:

Survivors include: one cousin, John Fowler of Vandalia, Missouri; special friend, Connie and husband, Garland Strother of Vandalia, Missouri; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: parents and four brothers.
