Friday, February 20, 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia, Missouri.
Service:

Saturday, February 21, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Second Baptist Church, 314 S. Taylor in Vandalia, Missouri.
Officiating will be: Rev. Jeffrey Mims.
Music provided by: family members and the Second Baptist Church Choir.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Richard Pearl, Harold Ferguson, Robin Terrell, Terry Joe Holt Jr., Freddie Thompson and William Wheeler. Honorary Pallbearers are Kenneth Wiser, Marlon Davis, Terry Joe Holt Sr., J. R. Collier, Donnell Perkins, Ronald Turner and Tony Overton.

Mary Ruth(Connor)Johnson died peacefully in her sleep at home on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 3:05 p.m. She had worked as a domestic housekeeper for over 50 years in the New Florence and Vandalia areas. Mary Ruth was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Vandalia where she was active in mission work. She also enjoyed cooking and raising her grandchildren.

Born: January 8, 1918 in rural High Hill, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Carrie(Connor)Wilson.

Married: Theodore Paul Connor in Montgomery City in 1937, he preceded her in death in 1955. She then married Clyde W. Johnson in 1964 and he preceded her in death on September 5, 1994.

Survivors include: three sons, James T. Connor of Louisiana; Louis E. and wife, Wanda Connor of Vandalia; Vincent N. Connor of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; five daughters, Geneva J. and husband, Harold Ferguson of Vandalia; Joyce E. Connor of Vandalia; Violet J. and husband, Samuel Lee of Vandalia; Shirley S. and husband, Richard Pearl of Davenport, Iowa and Mary S. Wilson of Vandalia; 25 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; two nieces, Gladys Jones of Wichita and Betty Brandt of Fulton; a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by: one brother, Rude Gardner, four sisters, Anna Lee Wilson, Anna Mae Wilson, Elvira Wilson and Emily Wilson; one son, Paul J. Connor; two daughters, Ruth V. Johnson and Lucy M. Connor.
