Mary L Gramley

February 21, 1926 — October 30, 2018

Mary L. (Schulze) Gramley, 92, of Vandalia, MO, passed away on October 30, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Waters Funeral Home. Pastor Chuck Todd of Grace Covenant Baptist Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. to time of service at Waters Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Farber Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Waters Funeral Home.

Mary was born in Vandalia, MO on February 21, 1926 to Ernest A. and Gladys M. (Moore) Schulze. 

Mary was married to Rex Eugene “Gene” Gramley on April 19, 1945 in Vandalia, MO.

Mary worked as a garment worker for Bridal Original’s, after her retirement she spent the next 20+ years caring for children in the community of Vandalia. Mary’s true passion was children and she enjoyed spending time with them. She enjoyed doing embroidery and quilt making along with growing all types of beautiful flowers. She was also actively involved in the Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post No. 2173 in Vandalia.

Mary is survived by one son, Charles Gramley of Studio City, CA, one daughter, Sandra Leake of New London, MO, one brother, David Schulze of Florissant, MO, three grandchildren, Rob (Ninette) Watson of Monroe City, MO, Brad (Christine) Watson of Monroe City, MO and Lisa (Todd) Garrett of Monroe City, MO, seven great grandchildren, John (Lauren), Dillon, Kayne, Ty (Kelsey), Lance, Rylee Watson and Clayton Garrett, six great great grandchildren, Grant, Maggie, Mayson, Carson, Kezli and Bentlee Watson and many other loved nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, Gary Leake, three brothers, Denny Schulze, Dean Schulze and Donald Schulze, two sisters, Ruth Fox and Dorothy Fielder and one great grandson, Jacob Watson.

Pallbearers will be Rob Watson, Brad Watson, John Watson, Dillon Watson, Kayne Watson and Ty Watson

All the children Mary cared for and loved will be honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post No. 2173 in the care of Waters Funeral Home, 500 S. Main St. ~ P.O. Box 84 Vandalia, MO 63382.
