Service:

Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Balwanz.
Music provided by: Wayne Lynn - soloist.
Interment of her cremains will take place at a later date.
Honorary Pallbearers: Rod Landers, Mike Cook, Judy Cullom, Noel Baker, Randy Lewis and Carl Yager.

Mary Elizabeth (Bishop) Fielder passed away unexpectedly at 2:36 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri. Mary was a lifelong Vandalia area resident and attended Vandalia schools. She had been a homemaker on the family farm all her married life. Mary enjoyed sewing, woodworking and crafts and spending time enjoying coffee with her friends.

Born: June 16, 1934 in Vandalia, Missouri the daughter of Clarence F. and Opal (Sidwell) Bishop.

Married: Wayne Laird on May 8, 1953; she then married George Harlow on August 12, 1967; he preceded her in death; she married Gary E. Fielder on October 16, 1982; he preceded her in death on February 13, 2010.

Survivors include: two sons: Boyd E. and wife, Kimberly Laird of Farber; William R. Laird of Fulton; two daughters: Mary Lou and husband, Roy Lynn of Vandalia; Toni A. Roberts of Vandalia; one sister, Darlene Gatewood of Rockford, Illinois; ten grandchildren: Quinten Heaton, Jeremy Heaton, Amber Hodde, Lacey Reames, Stacy Laird, Lori Dubbs, Kristin Figueroa, Jessica Eads, Christina Maxwell and Stephanie Cheesman; also survived by 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: parents; one brother, Clarence F. Bishop II.

Memorials are encouraged to the Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church.
