Service:

Monday, February 9, 2004 at 2 p.m., graveside services will be held at the Vandalia Cemetery under the direction of Waters Funeral Home.
Officiating will be: Rev. Ron Franklin.
Music provided by:
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Conrad Sankpill and Alan Sankpill.

Mae Emma Hartung died peacefully in her sleep at 2:15 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2004 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. She had been a secretary to the Vandalia State Bank president for many years prior to her retirement. Mae was a lifelong Vandalia area resident and devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Vandalia, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a 1934 Vandalia High School graduate.

Born: October 9, 1916 in rural Vandalia, Missouri the daughter of Claude R. and Elsie M. (Day) Caldwell.

Married: Reginald J. Hartung on February 3, 1940 in Bowling Green, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2001.

Survivors include: two sisters, Clarice Fowler of Kansas City and Eleanor Gass of Durango, Colorado; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: husband, Reginald.
