Lorraine Faye Ellis

Lorraine "Lori" Faye Ellis, 71, of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away peacefully at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal, Missouri.

Lori was born on June 19, 1955, in Louisiana, Missouri, the daughter of Vernon Vogel and Genevieve Franklin Vogel, who both preceded her in death.

She was united in marriage to Joseph Ellis in 1977, and together they shared many cherished years. He survives.

Lori had a vibrant personality and a wide variety of interests that brought joy to her life and those around her. She was a proud member of the Hannibal Quilt Club, the Mid Mississippi Muddy Waters Blues Society, and the Freedom of Road Riders – Hannibal Chapter. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and especially enjoyed cheering on her favorite player, Masyn Winn. In her spare time, Lori loved creating intricate Zentangle artwork, reading science fiction, thriller, and suspense novels, and spending time with her beloved cats. She also had a special fondness for sunflowers, which reflected her bright and cheerful spirit.

Lori is lovingly survived by her daughter, Sarah Ellis (Christian Beck); her cherished grandchildren, Damien Beck and Aiven Ellis; her brother, Leroy Vogel and his wife, Margie, of Bowling Green, Missouri; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Genevieve Vogel, and her sister, Vicki Vogel Burns.

Lori will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, love of family, and the many friendships she formed throughout her life. Her warm heart, artistic spirit, and love for life's simple pleasures will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia, Missouri.
