Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2004 at the First Baptist Church in Vandalia.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Hoehn.
Music provided by: Shirley Forgy, pianist.
Scattering of her cremains will take place at a later date.
Pallbearers:

Linda F. (Smelser) Stowell died unexpectedly at 4:37 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2004 at the University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, Missouri. Linda was a lifelong Vandalia resident and a 1959 Van-Far High School graduate. After high school, Linda became a licensed beautician and during the 1990s worked as a cook on an ADM towboat on the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vandalia and enjoyed collecting R S Prussia antique china.

Born: September 16, 1941 in Audrain County, Missouri to Sidney A. and Pauline Opal (Norris) Smelser.

Married:

Survivors include: one daughter, Kelly L. Stowell of Townsend, Massachusetts; one aunt and uncle, Homer and Ruth Norris of Auxvasse, Missouri; several cousins and many friends.

Preceded in death by: parents and two brothers who died in infancy.
