Sunday, July 8, 2007 from 12:30 p.m. until service time at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia, Missouri.
Service:

Sunday, July 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel, 500 S. Main Street in Vandalia, Missouri 63382.
Officiating will be: Pastor Dusty Morgan.
Music provided by: selected Alan Jackson hymns.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Larry Smith, Dustin Smith, Billy Wayne Bourne, Tom Culwell, Tim Culwell and Ryan Morris.

Leenell "Nell" Allen passed away at 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2007 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. Nell had been a resident of the Vandalia area most all her life. She graduated from cosmetology school and was a beautician in Vandalia for many years, retiring in 1989. Nell was a member of the United Methodist Church in Vandalia where she was active in the "Keenagers Group" of the church. She was a member of the Audrain County Democratic Club; member of the Missouri Federation of Women Democratic Club; a charter member of the B. P. W. Club in Vandalia and was active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Vandalia V.F.W. Post 2173.

Born: June 1, 1909 in Batesville, Arkansas the daughter of George Lee and Lillian (Carpenter) Bevens.

Married: Homer Goldsberry then later married Bruce Allen; both have preceded her in death.

Survivors include: four grandchildren, Tona Miller of Springfield, Oregon; Dick Goldsberry of Lowell, Oregon; John Goldsberry of Albany, Oregon and Kathleen Black of Vancouver, Washington; one daughter-in-law, Mary Goldsberry of Springfield, Oregon; special friends: Sheila Smith of Vandalia and Norma Stack of Mexico, Missouri; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Preceded in death by: one son, Billy Lee Goldsberry; one brother and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the United Methodist Church, 201 N. Jefferson Street, Vandalia, Missouri 63382.
