Visitation:
Tuesday, November 18, 2003 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia.
Service:

Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Hoehn.
Music provided by: family selected favorite songs.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Don Beedle, Lee Smith, Mike Elders, Joe Hassien, Bill Beatty, Herman Wright and Jim Wright.

Thomas L. Spradling Sr. died at 9:17 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2003 at the St. Marys Health Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. Tom served in the U. S. Army during World War II in Italy and Africa. He worked for 35 years with A T & T, maintaining the main phone line between Salisbury and St. Louis. Tom was a member of the United Methodist Church in Vandalia and was a member of the Vandalia Masonic Lodge #491. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Born: August 5, 1921 in rural Union, Missouri to Virgil Emery and Edith Bell (Fansler) Spradling.

Married: Freda Louise Ruble on July 6, 1946 in St. Louis, she preceded him in death on April 8, 1991.

Survivors include: one son, Thomas L. and wife Diana Spradling Jr. of Vandalia; two daughters, Gayle and husband Keith Krueger of Jefferson City; Mary and husband Don Keeney of Columbia; five grandchildren, Susan Savic of Kansas City; Amy Sprenger of Jefferson City; Elizabeth Steiger with the Peace Corps in Honduras; Jonathon Spradling and Jordan Spradling of Vandalia; two great-grandchildren, Stefan and Sofia Savic.

Preceded in death by: wife, Freda; a twin sister, Maxine Bagby.
