Judith Anne (Judy) Suddarth, age 71 of Vandalia, Missouri. Passed away at her home on the 11th of September 2023. Judy finished her journey in this life surrounded by her friends and family.
Judy was born in Louisiana, Missouri on November 5th, 1951 to Gerald and Betty Smith. Judy had two sisters, Barbara and Jeri. Judy and Ron were married in her family home in Louisiana, Missouri, on September 20th, 1980. Judy graduated from Louisiana High School in 1969. She continued her education receiving a cosmetology degree from Quincy Beauty Academy.
Judy worked as a cosmetologist for 46 years, owning her own business in Louisiana, The Magic Mirror. Judy was dedicated to her clients and loved spending time with them sharing stories and making them feel beautiful. Judy worked side by side with her longtime business partner Jene Keller, whom she cared for deeply. She worked with many of her clients for decades, even styling them after they passed, as one final act of love. Judy was also a member of Business and Professional Women of Louisiana.
Judy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her “Mimi time” with her grandchildren, and her “sister time” with Barbara and Jeri. She also greatly enjoyed her time with friends traveling, especially her friends at Sleepy Hollow in Zephyrhills, Florida. Judy started each day with a cup of coffee, and she loved ending her day with a glass of wine or margarita with friends. One of Judy’s favorite activities with friends was antiquing at her own pace, to be sure not to miss any great deals, especially on her beloved chickens. She loved the color pink, leopard print, and completing word searches in her free time. She was meticulous about recycling, always mentioning that she needed to leave the world a better place for her grandkids.
Judy is survived by her husband, Ronald (Ron) Suddarth of Vandalia. One son, Derek and wife JaLee Suddarth of Bloomington, Illinois. One Step-daughter, Shonda Moran and husband Chad of Columbia.
