Joyce Botts

Joyce Botts, age 83, of Vandalia, MO formerly of Hannibal passed away at 10:45 pm Friday, September 15, 2023, at the Baptist Home of Tri-County in Vandalia.  

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 20, 202023,23 at the Waters Funeral Home. Bro. Kenny Haddock will officiate. Burial will be in the Lick Creek Cemetery in rural Perry. 

Visitation celebrating Joyce's life will be held at 10:00 am until the time of the service Wednesday at the Waters Funeral Home. 

Joyce was born on June 3, 1940, in Williamsburg, MO the daughter of Raymond and Loretta (Moore) Roberts.

She was united in marriage to Louise Jackson Botts on April 5, 1959, in Vandalia, Mo.  He preceded her in death on March 12, 2008.

Survivors include a son, Louis Botts of Kansas City, MO; three sisters, Shirley Benz of Manchester, MO, Linda Fern Grote of Bowling Green, MO and Karen RIley and husband George of Vandalia, MO and several nieces and nephewsnephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Botts was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Charlene Busch and brother-in-law, Phil Grote.

Joyce worked most of her life as a homemaker, a loving mother and wife; she was always there to take care of her family's needs.  Joyce enjoyed sewing in her younger years, cooking and later in life cherished the time spent with her family and friends.  She was an active member in the PEO and Eastern Star.

Joyce was a member of Clover Road Christian in Hannibal, where she was very active within her church before her health started to decline.

Pallbearers will be Justin Grote, George Riley, Rex Moore, Gary Moore, Mark Benz and Cari Allen.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pike County Home Health and Hospice or Donor's Choice, in care of the Waters Funeral Home.
