Saturday, July 9, 2005 at 12:00 o'clock (noon) at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia, Missouri.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Hoehn.
Music provided by: David and Rosie Land, pianist and vocalists.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery with full military honors.
Pallbearers: Family members of Mr. Cafer will serve as the pallbearers;honorary pallbearers are: Bob Brinkman, Jim Mac Elzea, Jim Gaw, Ralph Kuda, Don Langford, Jack Shiverdecker and Ray Werner.
John E. "Ed" Cafer passed away at 4:35 a.m. Wednesday morning, July 6, 2005 at the Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born: January 18, 1922 in Vandalia, Missouri the son of Perry Dan and Jennie Mae (Davis) Cafer.
Married: Virginia Mae Shaw on August 3, 1941 in Hannibal, Missouri; she preceded him in death on October 13, 2004.
Survivors include: one son, James and wife, Janet Cafer of Vandalia; one daughter, Jeannine Roe of Mexico, Missouri; five grandchildren and their spouses: Dr. Jason Cafer and his wife, Amy of Columbia, Missouri; Elizabeth Cafer Du Plessis and her husband, Ruan of Bloomington, Indiana; Allison Cafer and her fiance, Ben Nelson of Columbia, Missouri; Emily Roe of Columbia, Missouri and Adam Roe and his wife, Rachel of Mexico, Missouri; he is also survived by one great-grandson, Jack Cafer and one great-granddaughter on the way, who will be named Anna Cafer, who is expected to be born about September 10, 2005, both the children of Jason and Amy Cafer; several nieces and nephews..
Preceded in death by: parents, wife and one brother, Howard Cafer.
