Sunday, February 3, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia, Missouri.
Service:

Monday, February 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel, 500 S. Main Street, Vandalia, Missouri 63382.
Officiating will be: Rev. Marvin Jones.
Music provided by: Glen & Carolyn Bailey - duet; Barb Branstetter - pianist; George & Debbie Hinch - duet.
Interment will be in the Curryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Wayne Thurman, Tom Thurman, Bill Beatty, Charlie Livers, Jim Hubert, Lloyd Hubert Jr. and Joe Hassien. Honorary pallbearers: the grandchildren.

Jessie A. Windland passed away at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at the Hannibal Regional Hospital. Jessie attended schools in the Poplar Bluff area and served in the U. S. Army from 1962 until 1964. He moved to the Curryville area after getting out of the service and worked at the MFA Agri-Service in Louisiana. Jessie then started working in the specialty department at Harbison Walker Refractories in Vandalia in 1964 and retired in 2000. He attended the Southside Baptist Church in Vandalia and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Born: January 16, 1942 in Rombauer, Missouri the son of Andrew Jackson and Alpha May (Bowers) Windland.

Married: Joyce M. Wallace in Curryville on April 5, 1964; he later spent 12 years with his very special friend, Mary E. Cox.

Survivors include: two sons: Ricky and wife, Sherry Windland of Frankford, Missouri and Robert and wife, Dinah Windland of Frankford; three daughters: Debra and husband, Billy Willard of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Karen Sue VanBoening and Gary Giltner of Vandalia, Missouri; Kathy and husband, Tim Merriman of New Holland, Illinois; four step-children: Lori Ann Houchen of New Franklin, Missouri; Cheryl and husband, Allen Nelson of Hatton, Missouri; Lisa Hamburg of Ashland, Missouri; Randy and wife, Melissa Cox of Mexico, Missouri; also survived by 23 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: special friend, Mary E. Cox; one brother, Lee Windland and one sister, Marie Friend.
