Janice Carole (Pollard) Davis passed away unexpectedly at 11:21 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at her home in Vandalia. She grew up in the Mexico area and was a 1969 graduate of Mexico High School. Janice then attended and was a 1970 graduate of the Mexico School of Practical Nursing. She worked for over 30 years at the Audrain Medical Center, primarily in the Emergency Room. Janice also was an EMT and was a volunteer EMT for the Van-Far Ambulance district for 20 years. As a cancer survivor, Janice was active in the local Relay for Life teams, collecting zebra artifacts, gardening, traveling and shopping. She was a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Born: January 19, 1951 in Hannibal, Missouri the daughter of James Madison and Mary Lou (Every) Pollard.

Married: Bobby Dale Davis in Vandalia on October 26, 1985; he preceded her in death on April 30, 1994.

Survivors include: one son, Joseph Davis and Elizabeth Shinn of Mexico; two daughters: Christina and Mark Brettschneider of Henley; Tracey and LaDonna Davis of Sikeston; four step-sons: David and Diona Davis of Vandalia; Michael T. Davis of Vandalia; Bryan and Stacey Davis of O'Fallon; Phillip and Rita Davis of Festus; six step-daughters: Marcia Davis of Columbia; Junie Davis of Columbia; Patricia Conway of Vandalia; Beverlia Conway of Vandalia; Donna and Greg Vandegriffe of Columbia and Bobbie Jo Wheeler of Belton; four brothers: James C. Pollard of Mexico; Gene and Glenda Pollard of Centralia; Jerry Pollard of Mexico; Dennis Pollard of St. Louis; three sisters: Betty and Gary Wilson of Fairgrove; Charlotte Baker of Mexico; Patricia and Rodney Walker of Mexico; 32 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Bobby Dale; one brother: Tommy Jo Pollard.

Memorials are encouraged to the "Together As One" Relay for Life Team.
