Monday, March 16, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel, 500 S. Main Street in Vandalia, Missouri.
Service:

Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Farber Baptist Church in Farber, Missouri.
Officiating will be: Rev. Jerry Ostrom.
Music provided by: selected favorite songs.
Interment will be in the Farber Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Dwaine Hull, Andrew Gaw, Marcus Coose, Jared Day, Larry Finley Jr. and Brian Stone. Honorary pallbearers: David Day, Darren Day, Dan Day, Brandon Day, Steven Stone and Timothy Stone.

James "Jamie" Edward Day passed away in the early afternoon hours of Friday, March 13, 2009 at his parents home in Farber, Missouri. Jamie was a lifelong Farber resident and attended Van-Far schools. After school, he worked at the North American Refractories in Farber for a couple years. He then worked as a serviceman for Charlie's Pest Control for over ten years. Jamie then worked for about three years at Spartan Light Metals manufacturing until his health prevented him from working any longer. He was a long-time member of the Farber Baptist Church where he was the assistant Sunday school director and sang in the church choir. Jamie had also served with the Farber Fire Department for several years. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and a backyard barbeque.

Born: September 23, 1958 in Mexico, Missouri the son of James Vorhese and Ruth Loverta (Perkins) Day.

Married: Linda F. Blakley in Mexico, Missouri on November 23, 1979.

Survivors include: parents of Farber; three sons: James E. "Jamie" Day Jr., Jason L. Day and Joseph "Joe" A. Day all of Mexico, Missouri; three brothers: David W. Day, Darren E. Day and Dan L. Day all of Columbia, Missouri; five sisters: Doris K. Britton, Donna F. Bise, Marcia Sue Finley and Mary A. Bailey all of Farber and Carol L. Peacock of Mexico; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: his grandparents.
