James T. Connor, 81, of Vandalia, MO passed away at 12:21 PM Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Second Missionary Baptist Church Worship Center in Vandalia. Rev. Jermareian Gillette will officiate. Burial will be in the Vandalia Cemetery following the service.
Visitation celebrating James T. Connor will be held 12:00 PM until the time of service Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Second Missionary Baptist Church Worship Center.
James was born on July 16, 1938, in High Hill Missouri the son of Theodore J and Mary Ruth (Wilson) Connor.
Survivors include two daughters, Jamesella Connor (Jeffery Tubbs) of Columbia and Sharon E. Connor of Columbia; two brothers, Louis Connor (Wanda) of Vandalia and Vincent Connor of Louisiana, MO; four sisters, Geneva Ferguson of Vandalia, Violet Lee (Samuel) of Vandalia, Shirley Connor Pearl of Mexico and Mary Wilson of Edmond, OK; four grandchildren Zachary Connor, Bianca Connor, Gabrielle Pearl and Jamon Galbreath; great grandchildren, Kimora, Payton, Ka'Mero, Abrielle and Sergio along with a host of nieces, nephews and lots of other loved family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ruth Johnson, Lucy Connor and Joyce Connor; one brother, Paul Connor; one niece, Sharon Connor; one nephew, Greg Connor; two great nieces, Alexis Long and LaTamara Hammers and one great great nephew Chandler Alesandro Thomas.
James was Baptist by faith and a member of St. Paul's Baptist Church Wellsville, MO.
He was employed with National Garment for 33 years then went on to working for Stark Bros Nursery for 25 years.
He loved hunting, fishing, picking greens and blueberry's, listening to the news with his son in law and enjoyed listening to gospel music. James was a hard working man who devoted his life to raising his daughters teaching them everything about respect, love and family. There are countless stories that could be told from anyone who knew James showing how much he loved to laugh and have fun. James was loved by everyone who knew him and will be missed dearly.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Greene, William Wheeler, James Wheeler, Roger Chatman, Jeffrey Tubbs and Joe Long.
Honorary pallbearers are Theodore Connor, Louie Connor, Sam Chatman and Donnell Perkins.
James had a huge passion for children and loved them all, he always supported the Feed The Children program and the family would request all Memorial contributions may be made to Feed The Children
