Izetta "Noonie" Dixon

November 16, 1931 — January 5, 2020

Izetta "Noonie" Dixon, 88, of Vandalia, MO passed away at 2:45 pm Sunday, January 5, 2020, at University Hospital in Columbia, MO.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Second Christian Church in Vandalia. Rev. Melvin McCaleb will officiate. Burial will be in the Vandalia Cemetery following the service.

Visitation celebrating Izetta "Noonie" Dixon life will be held 10:00 am until the time of service on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Second Christian Church of Vandalia.

The family is being served by the Waters Funeral Home of Vandalia.

Noonie was born on November 16, 1931, the daughter of Ora and Clara (Hall) Redmond.

She was united in marriage to Walter T Dixon on September 26, 1958 in Vandalia, MO.

Survivors included husband, Walter T. Dixon, daughter, Norma (Michael) Redmond of Evanston, IL, son, Bruce (Alma) Simons of Lincoln, NE, grandchildren, Michelle (Lee) Fox of Normal, IL, Derrick Barber Jr. of Evanston, IL, Melody Crisco of Omaha, NE, Terra Gloria of Lincoln, NE, Gabe Simon of Lincoln, NE and Jerome Maschman of Lincoln, NE, two great granddaughters, Danielle Fox and Mariah Barber, brother-in-law, Dempsey (Gene) Dixon, three sister-in-laws, Ines Hastings, Dorothy (Herman) Miles and Cora Braggs, several great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Bruce Hall, William Hastings, Henry Shelton and three sisters, Catherine Hall, Mary Simons, Laura Sparks.

Noonie was and member of the Second Christian Church in Vandalia, a lifetime member of  VFW Ladies Auxiliary 2173 in Vandalia, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary 4539 in Eolia, Missouri.

She loved fishing, bingo, cooking, baking and spending time in church. Noonie was also found helping her neighbors and loved everyone, she didn't know a stranger and if you ever had the pleasure of visiting with her she was full of life and the most wonderful stories.

Pallbearers will be Lee Fox, Derrick Barber Jr., William Wheeler, Ronald Green, Roger Chatman and Jamie Wheeler.

Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Redmond, Dempsey Dixon, Larry Wheeler, Kenneth Wheeler and Wendell Wheeler.

Memorial contributions may be made to a donors choice, in care of Waters Funeral Home.
