Interment will be in the Chapel Grove Cemetery near Clark, Missouri.
Pallbearers: Bobby Christian, Donnie Christian, Levi Perrigo, Jamie Carroll, Hunter Eddingfield and Scott Miller. Honorary pallbearers: Brayden Christian, Kasen Christian, Trey Miller, Joshua Maier, Andrew Carroll and Patrick Moore.
Iva Laura (Meteer) White passed away at 2:50 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2009 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. She had grown up and attended schools near Shamrock, Missouri. After school, Iva worked as a telephone operator at the Southwestern Bell office in Mexico, Missouri for several years. When Iva and William Clifford White were married, they moved to the Vandalia area and she began working at the Bobby Brooks garment factory. Iva worked as a buck press operator at the garment factory for nearly 25 years until the factory shut down. She was a Christian by faith and had several hobbies. Iva enjoyed fishing, doing any type of crafts, gardening and canning but she loved hand quilting. She quilted many, many quilts for family, friends and neighbors over the years.
Born: November 9, 1919 in Shamrock, Missouri the daughter of Charlie and Willie Trent (Wilson) Meteer.
Married: William Clifford White on May 7, 1942 in Mexico, Missouri; he preceded her in death in 1970.
Survivors include: five sons, Billy Joe and wife, Judy White of Vandalia; William Kenneth and wife Leona White of Bowling Green, Missouri; Charles Edgar and wife, Mary Jane White of New London, Missouri; Carl W. White of Vandalia and Dennis Ray White of Columbia, Missouri; four daughters: Iva Joyice Mullinix of Vandalia; Linda M. Christian of Mexico, Missouri; Sue and husband, Roger Carroll of Mexico and Mary Janice Sloan of Conway, South Carolina; also survived by 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Preceded in death by: husband, William Clifford; two brothers: Charles Alfred Meteer and Alfred Price Meteer, who died in infancy; three sisters: Lillie Jones, Lenora Coldwell and Mary Caldwell.
