Monday, October 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel, 500 S. Main Street, Vandalia, Missouri 63382.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Hoehn.
Music provided by: selected favorite hymns.
Interment will be in the Lick Creek Cemetery in Perry, Missouri.
Pallbearers: Douglas Barney, Wendell Talbert, Norman "Shorty" Robbins and Scott Jensen.

Helen Marie (Ross) Walton passed away unexpectedly at 7:25 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2009 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. She attended local schools and graduated from the Perry High School in 1933. After her marriage to Georgie Walton, they made their home on the family's farm south of Perry. Helen was a homemaker on the farm and also helped others in the community as a seamstress. She was a member of the Perry Baptist Church and served as the secretary of the Sunday school for many years. Helen had the distinction of being the oldest member of the Perry Baptist Church. She had also been active in the Fagan Community Club and as hobbies enjoyed quilting and flower gardening.

Born: September 14, 1913 in rural Perry, Missouri the daughter of Simeon Milan and Anna Mae (Phillips) Ross.

Married: Georgie Joseph Walton in Perry on January 1, 1937; he preceded her in death on July 7, 1987. The highlight of their marriage was when they took in a young girl, Joyce Marie in July 1952, from a foster home and adopted her as their own.

Survivors include: one daughter, Joyce Marie and husband, Jim Jerman of rural Vandalia, Missouri; two grandchildren: Elizabeth M. and husband, Mike Rawlings of Waynesville, Missouri; Lesley J. Brewster of Vandalia; two great-grandchildren: Taylor M. Rawlings of Waynesville and Harley E. Brewster of Vandalia.

Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Georgie; twin brothers, Milan Ross and Marvin Ross; one daughter, Eleanor Lois Ross who died in infancy; one grandson, John Robert Jerman; one great-grandson, Brogan Brewster.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the Tri-County Care Center, 601 N. Galloway Rd., Vandalia, Missouri 63382.
