Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel, 500 S. Main Street, Vandalia, Missouri 63382.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Hoehn.
Music provided by: selected favorite hymns.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Joe Troesser, Larry Anderson, Bob Branstetter, Ronnie Naysmith, Ron Weeks and Ray Bingham.
Gladys Marie (Naysmith) Branstetter passed away at 1:20 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. Gladys was a lifelong Vandalia area resident and attended area schools. After school, she worked as a seamstress at the Bobby Brooks and Ely Walker Garment Factories in Vandalia for over 20 years. She also owned and operated "Bran's Cafe" in Laddonia for a couple years. She was a member of the Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, sewing and her flowers.
Born: April 21, 1916 in rural Vandalia, Missouri the daughter of Fred and Ethel (Lamme) Naysmith.
Married: Frank Branstetter on September 18, 1943; he preceded her in death on November 2, 1986.
Survivors include: two sisters: Cora Lena Doyle of Mexico, Missouri and Roberta June Stuart of Vandalia, Missouri; two sisters-in-law: Janice Naysmith of Laddonia, Missouri and Retha Hoblertzel of St. Louis; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: husband, Frank; three brothers: Vernie Naysmith, Glen Naysmith and Johnny Naysmith; three sisters: Elnora Jensen, Leta Chenoweth and Eva Blanche Leist.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the American Cancer Society, P O Box 972, Mexico, Missouri 65265-0972.
