Visitation:
Thursday, November 16, 2006 from 4 - 7 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia. A masonic service will be held at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m.
Service:

Friday, November 17, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel, 500 S. Main Street in Vandalia, Missouri.
Officiating will be: Rev. Don Amelung and Rev. Marvin Jones.
Music provided by: selected favorite hymns.
Interment will be in the Curryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers:

Eugene Earl "Jake" Miller passed away at 5:15 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2006 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. After school, Jake farmed and worked on highway construction for several years in the area. He then became the manager of the City of Vandalia power plant for 15 years. Jake then took a position as maintenance supervisor for Glenwood Manor Motel in Overland Park, Kansas. He held that position for over 15 years, retiring in 1980. While in the Vandalia area, Jake has maintained his membership at the Southside Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and his association with the Masonic fraternity. Jake was a life member of the Vandalia VFW Post 2173 and was a 50+ year Mason, receiving his pin for this rare accomplishment in December 1997. Jake's son Ed, helped with the presentation of the 50 year pin in Pike Lodge #399 in Curryville, Missouri. During the many years that Jake belonged to the Masonic fraternity, he served the Pike Lodge as its worshipful master on four different occasions.

Born: May 6, 1918 in rural Bowling Green, Missouri the son of Thomas Jefferson and Ethel Lillian (Starhn) Miller.

Married: Evalene Mae Williams who preceded him in death on July 3, 1995.

Survivors include: six sons, Earl A. Miller of the LosAngeles, California area; Marty and wife, Betty Miller of Hannibal, Missouri; Ed and wife, Shirley Miller of Bowling Green, Missouri; Kenny and wife, Patti Miller of Frankford, Missouri; Charlie Miller of the state of Texas; Ronnie and wife, Marsha Miller of Overland Park, Kansas; one daughter, Diana and husband, Glenn Egley of Houston, Texas; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: three brothers, Harry Miller, Howard Miller and Elmer Lee Miller; one sister, Dorothy Miller.
