Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Vandalia.
Officiating: Pastors Wes Philips and Charles Legg.
Music: Sharon Dameron - pianist.
Interment: Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: (Grandsons) Mike Smith, Alan Smith, Eric Smith, Keith Smith, Mike Dameron, Jason Dameron, Joe Dameron and David Pew. Honorary pallbearers: (Granddaughters) Sheryl Bartholomew, Lori Burns, Diane Smith, Stacy Lybarger, Kathy Remley, Melissa Woodside and Keri Price.

Ethel Ailene Pew passed away at 2:50 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. She had lived most of her life in the Vandalia area. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Bowling Green. Ethel and her husband operated a flea market from their home in Vandalia where they traded furs, copper and other metals and different types of collectibles. Ethel enjoyed gardening, her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren.

Born: October 19, 1922 in Troy, Missouri the daughter of John E. and Bernice Emma (Schaper) Gerdeman.

Married: Cecil A. "Jack" Pew in Bowling Green, Missouri on May 18, 1940; he preceded her in death on November 3, 2014.

Survivors include: one son, Cecil W. and wife, Sandy Pew of West Point, Mississippi; five daughters: Bonnie and husband, Floyd Joy of Vandalia; Marilyn K. and husband, Virgil Smith of Vandalia; Joyce and husband, Vince Riedesel of Branson; Sharon Dameron of Bowling Green and Ruth Dameron of Bowling Green; special daughter, Brinda Pargeon; also survived by 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: parents; one daughter, Phyllis Smith; one brother, Johnny Gerdeman; three sons-in-law, LaVon Smith, Mike Dameron and Joe Dameron; one daughter-in-law, Marylee Pew; one great-granddaughter: Elizabeth Woodside.

Memorials are encouraged to the Church of the Nazarene in Bowling Green, Missouri.
