Doris Elaine (Asbury) Jones passed away at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. Doris had orginially grown up in the rural Ralls County area and was a 1938 Center High School graduate. She had been a homemaker after marrying John Jones in 1941. For approximately three years, Doris worked as a receptionist for Dr. Earl Cordry's Precision Eyecare office in Vandalia. She had been a resident at Tri-County Care Center since 2003.

Born: September 30, 1920 in Vandalia, Missouri the daughter of Abraham Lincoln and Leota (Bland) Asbury.

Married: John J. Jones on September 13, 1941 in Perry, Missouri; he preceded her in death on February 10, 1994.

Survivors include: one son, Ronald P. and wife, Kelene Jones of Moberly, Missouri; several grandchildren; sister-in-law: Verta Asbury of Washington, Iowa; cousins: Bob Bland and Patsy Clithero of Vandalia.

Preceded in death by: husband, John; one granddaughter: Christina Anne Jones who died in infancy in 1972.
