Della Fern Fischer, 75, of Vandalia, Missouri, passed away at 12:23 AM on December 22, 2018, peacefully at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, December 27, 2018, at the Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia. Bro. Kenny Haddock will officiate.

Della’s Celebration of Life Visitation will be held at 2:00 PM until time of service Thursday, December 27, 2018, at the Waters Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia.

Della was born in Vandalia, MO on October 31, 1943, to Veron Brookshire and Doranna (Smith) Horton. 

She was married to Fred Fischer on January 13, 1968, he proceeded her in death.

Della worked as a CNA for Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia for 10+ years. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, computer games and putting together jigsaw puzzles. Della was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her biggest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Della was faithful member of Southside Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Jamie Foiles (Rhonda) of Laddonia, MO; two daughters, Donna Kemry (Robert) of Vandalia, MO and Kim Fischer (Mike) of Vandalia, MO; one sister, Nettie Fischer of Mexico, MO; six grandchildren, Kayla, BJ, Tyler, Justin, Skylie and Mathew; three great-grandchildren, Ayden, Stormy and Sabatian along with other loved family and friends.

Della is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jerry Foiles; sister, Freida Nickens; brother in law, George Fischer and one grandchild, Brianna Stuart.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society or the family of Della Fischer in the care of Waters Funeral Home, 500 S. Main St. P.O. Box 84 Vandalia, MO 63382.
