Wednesday, May 7, 2008 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel, 500 S. Main Street, Vandalia, Missouri 63382.
Service:

Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Vandalia, Missouri.
Officiating will be: Rev. Dr. Roger Thomas.
Music provided by: Rose Thomas - pianist.
Interment of his cremains will take place at a later date.
Pallbearers: Jimmy Dougherty and Jason Dougherty.

Daniel Joseph "Joey" Dougherty passed away after a short illness at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Joey was a 1998 graduate of Bowling Green High School and after high school, moved to Springfield, Missouri where he attended college at S.M.S. He was a wonder with computers and worked as a computer consultant, putting himself through college. Joey attended the First Christian Church in Vandalia and loved camping with his grandmother Jackie and her friend J. B. He had many friends in Springfield and Kansas City. Joey and his father were especially close and worked together on autos and went on numerous vacations together. He was a loving and generous person and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Born: May 26, 1980 in Columbia, Missouri the son of James Raymond and Audrey Sue (Lynn) Dougherty.

Survivors include: father, Jim Dougherty of rural Curryville, Missouri; mother, Audrey Reid of the Lake Ozark area; paternal grandmother, Jacqueline R. "Jackie" Dougherty of rural Curryville and her friend, J. B. Grothaus of Silex; two brothers: Sgt. Jimmy Dougherty of Ft. Richardson, Alaska and Sgt. Jason Dougherty of Jefferson City, Missouri; two sisters: Jessica Dougherty of Ozark, Alabama and Raline Crenshaw of Ozark, Alabama; one uncle: Bruce and wife, Susie Lynn and their children, Jake and Sarah of Montgomery City, Missouri; one aunt, Janet and husband, Tim Kirks and their children, Jeremy and Jason of Bowling Green, Missouri; great-aunts and great-uncles: Jean Fisher of Curryville, June and husband, Dan Erdel of Laddonia, Missouri; Joe Frieden of Curryville; Joyce and husband, Ken Dudley of Mexico, Missouri; Joann Eibert of Bowling Green; Judy and husband, Ron Freymuth of Warrenton, Missouri; Jerry and wife, Doris Frieden of Texas and Betty Frieden of Texas; Bob and wife, Vivian Pabst of Vandalia.

Preceded in death by: paternal grandfather, Dr. J. R. Dougherty; maternal grandmother, Dodie Girard; one uncle, Wally Lynn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the donor's choice.
