Cheryl Ann (Ogden) Culver passed away at 9:17 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 as the result of an automobile accident in O'Fallon, Illinois. Cheryl was a Vandalia High School graduate and attended the Sanford Brown Business School in St. Louis. She worked for many years as the office manager for Harbison Walker Refractories in Vandalia. Cheryl moved to Summerfield, Illinois where she worked as a postal clerk for the U. S. Postal Service. She loved animals and had rescued many dogs and cats over the years. Cheryl was also an avid birdwatcher and enjoyed gardening. These past several years she has really loved spending time playing games with her grandchildren.
Born: May 29, 1949 in Mexico, Missouri the daughter of Preston Cottle and Ara O'Laura (Damron) Ogden.
Married: Gary Ray Culver on April 26, 1980 in Vandalia; he preceded her in death on December 24, 2014.
Survivors include: one son, James P. and wife, Rhonda Culver of Vandalia; four grandchildren: Justin Bauman of Mexico; Zachary Culver of Ft. Meade, Maryland; Alex Culver and Victoria Culver both of Vandalia; three great-grandchildren: Christian Bauman, Keegan Bauman and Kayden Bauman; niece, Missy Baker of Memphis, Missouri and nephew, Michael Ogden of Vandalia; also survived by several great-nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Gary; one brother, Phillip Ogden.
