Service:

Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel, 500 S. Main Street in Vandalia, Missouri 63382.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Hoehn.
Music provided by: selected favorite hymns.
Interment will be in the South Fork Cemetery near Sante Fe, Missouri.
Pallbearers: Lee Gore; Donley Morris; Ray Oden; Alan Adam; Paul Gene Galloway and Harold Libby.

Charles Emmett Kerr passed away at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Februrary 15, 2007 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. Charlie was born in Laddonia, Missouri but grew up and went attended schools in the Mason, Wisconsin area. He graduated from Mason, Wisconsin High School and moved to the Vandalia area in 1939. For many years, Charlie drove a bulk fuel truck in the area. In 1955, he began operation of Kerr's Hardware Store on N. Main Street, one half block south of U. S. 54. Charlie ran his hardware store for 29 years, selling the business to Ray Oden in 1984. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Vandalia; a past member of the Vandalia Rotary Club and his hobbies included reading and traveling.

Born: June 10, 1919 near Laddonia, Missouri the son of William E. and Georgiana (Buchanan) Kerr.

Married:

Survivors include: one sister, Anne B. Bridgford of Uma Tilla, Florida; three nephews, Richard G. and wife, Gladys Olson of Uma Tilla, Florida; Dan and wife, Nancy Wallace of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kerwin Hafner of Gainesville, Florida; nieces, Jacqueline Foster of Georgetown, Texas and Charlotte Hafner of St. Louis, Missouri.

Preceded in death by: special friend, Mary Jo (Hobbs) Dubbert; three brothers, Arnold Kerr, Melvin Kerr and James Kerr; one sister, Ida Ruth Hafner.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the College of the Ozarks, P O Box 17, Point Lookout, Missouri 65726.
